Ty Majeski wins Truck Series pole award at Martinsville in new track record
The oldest track in NASCAR is still seeing laps like it never has before. Ty Majeski just won the pole and set the Truck Series track record. Majeski helped get his truck set up and it paid off for the 98.
Ty Majeski just barely beat out Christian Eckes. These drivers were one-upping each other throughout the qualifying session. Just when we thought we had seen the fastest lap, another driver came out and broke it.
Layne Riggs put up a good lap. Then Eckes beat it. Then, Majeski took the pole right from under the 19 truck. Corey Heim put up a good fight but would ultimately finish P4 in the session.
Majeski will lead the field to green tonight at 7:30 on FS1.
This is the sixth pole of Ty Majeski’s career. His last pole award was at Daytona this season. He was the pole winner at Gateway and Richmond last season as well. Majeski has a very successful short track record in the Truck Series and in his Super Late Model career.
I would put Majeski among the best short track racers not just in the Truck Series but in NASCAR in general. Having a fast truck in the front of the field is only going to make that more obvious. It could be a big night for the 98 team.

Ty Majeski hoping to get back on track
With two poles, two top-5s, and a top-10 this season it is hard to say Ty Majeski is struggling. And I wouldn’t say that. However, he would like to be racing up front more often. Last season started off really hot for Majeski with numerous top-5 finishes. Then things took a dive in the second half of the season.
COTA was a good race for Majeski a couple of weeks ago. P3 in that race. He was P2 at Atlanta. The only other time the Truck Series has been on a short track was at Bristol. Majeski was a P34 DNF in that race, a disappointing weekend for him.
With the pole in hand, it will be hard to bet against Majeski in tonight’s race. However, he does have Christian Eckes, Layne Riggs, Corey Heim, and Ben Rhodes not far behind waiting to strike as well.
Ty Majeski and these other truckers have some fast wheels for tonight’s race. Which one of them will be able to take home the grandfather clock at the end of the night? Should be a good short track race in the NASCAR Truck Series tonight.
