Denver Broncos (1-2) running back Tyler Badie was stretchered off the field during Sunday’s Week 4 road game against the New York Jets (2-1) after collapsing on the sideline.

Just before the sideline collapse, Badie, 24, took a hit to the lower back area from Jets linebacker Quincy Williams. He walked off the field under his own power before going down on the sideline. Badie was immobilized and subsequently stretchered off to the locker room.

Badie, who has been with the Broncos since the Baltimore Ravens (1-2) waived him in August 2022, had seen an uptick in playing time coming into Sunday’s game. In last Sunday’s 26-7 Week 3 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1), Badie rushed for a team-high 70 yards on nine carries. The week prior against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0) he took his lone carry for 16 yards.

Tyler Badie’s status to be determined in coming days

Badie logged one carry for zero yards before exiting Sunday’s game. Head coach Sean Payton offered no update on Badie’s status after the game.

Per Jeff Legwold of ESPN, Javonte Williams said that running backs coach Lou Ayeni told the group Badie “would be alright, but we know Tyler is a fighter, I just saw him on the ground and went to see how he was.”
