Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd will be heading to Nashville this fall. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Boyd will sign a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans after spending eight years with the Bengals. The contract is worth up to $4.5 million.

The reported signing comes a few days after Boyd visited the Titans. He will be reunited with head coach Brian Callahan who previously served as the Bengals offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2023. Boyd’s contract expired after the 2023 season and, he finished the year with 67 receptions for 667 yards and two touchdowns.

Boyd was selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Bengals after being a three-time All-ACC player with the Pittsburgh Panthers. In his rookie season, Boyd caught 54 passes for 603 yards and one touchdown. His best season was in 2019 when he registered 90 receptions for 1,046 yards and five scores.

Tyler Boyd talks what he can still bring to an NFL team

Earlier this year, Boyd talked about being a big contributor to an NFL team that signs him. “I’m a pretty well-trained ear and I’m just a great guy around in the locker room,” Boyd, 29, told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Bring great camaraderie and guys piggy-back off of me and I motivate guys and I’m just one of those guys that, you know, just enhances everyone’s performance. Just a great player and I definitely feel like they will try to keep me and depending on the value and money, it’s a business, but I would love to come back.”

Boyd also talked about playing eight seasons with the Bengals. “It’s everything because they gave me my opportunity,” he said. “They drafted me and still stuck with me after my first year. They just showed good loyalty and trust in me, and they believed in me. That just hit home for me because, coming from Clairton, I didn’t have much belief. It’s a small single-a school and every step of the way, I went and got my degree from college. I always had doubters. I always had people that said that I wasn’t good enough and I couldn’t play at a high level of competition. So very grateful for those guys to give me that opportunity.”

Boyd will be a consistent target for Titans quarterback Will Levis who became the starter last year. The Titans wide receiver room also includes DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley and Treylon Burks.
