What a wreck! Chase Elliott washed up the track and Tyler Reddick got pinched into the wall. The 45 flipped over completely. This will have a major impact on the NASCAR Playoffs.

Tyler Reddick hit the wall, went down the frontstretch, flipped over on his roof, went back onto all four tires and drove his car to pit road. Despite the awesome move to keep driving, Reddick’s day is done.

Elliott, Truex, and Reddick were involved. Ryan Blaney had a separate incident behind this wreck a broke a toe link.

Tyler Reddick saw a hole, Chase Elliott closed it up pretty good. It’s amazing that Reddick was able to get his car going again, just seamlessly kept it moving. He is out of the race though and despite leading 10 laps will have a huge points deficit going into Homestead.

Unforutnately for Elliott, his day is more or less over as well. However, his team was able to get him back on the track. Since reentering the race, Elliott has made minimum speed. Ryan Blaney has also met minimum speed and is still on the track, trying to earn points.

With Homestead and Martinsville left in the Round of 8, there are not enough spots for everyone to make it through. Reddick knows he let this one get away from him.

Tyler Reddick reflects on wreck at Las Vegas

After leaving the infield care center, Tyler Reddick had a chance to reflect on the wreck. He knows that he made a mistake but he can’t take it back now. All he can do is move on.

“I mean, you just got to be aggressive on restarts, it’s how this Next Gen racing has been since the beginning,” Reddick said on the NBC broadcast. “Yeah, I kind of saw them both have a moment and I just had a split second to make a decision, right? And you just got to be aggressive you got to try and get some spots back on a restart. Can be hard to pass after a while. Just being myself on a mile and a half, being aggressive, and I mean, by the time I realized I was in trouble it was just too late.

“The 19 started sliding, the 9 was coming up and I was pretty much already on their outside, there was just at that point nowhere to really go. I needed to make the decision earlier when I saw him slide and just be more conservative, that would have avoided the incident. But just not, it’s not who I am, it’s not what we do. It’s unfortunate it took us out of the race. We had a really, really fast Jordan Brand Toyota Camry and thought we would be in the mix all day long. So we’ll learn from it. We’ll go to Homestead, a place where I’ve had to get it done before and go forward there.”

Tyler Reddick did a flip and was able to drive to pit road afterward. The important thing is that he is okay, but that one wreck will have major implications on these NASCAR Playoffs.
