Last night Tyler Reddick was honored as the National Series Driver Award winner at the NASCAR Drive For Diversity Awards. Reddick and his work with 23XI Racing have done a lot to promote diversity and grow the sport to new audiences.

Reddick was featured in NASCAR: Full Speed on Netflix as the young, fun dad and driver of the Cup Series. In his career, the driver has earned two Xfinity Series championships and is seen as a rising star in the Cup Series.

Part of his appeal is his efforts off the track. Advocating for those who need it and always making more room at the table for new fans and others interested in the sport of NASCAR.

On Friday night, Tyler Reddick was honored by NASCAR. He was named the National Series Driver at the Drive For Diversity Award.

“Tyler Reddick, driver of the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota, has participated in several events to promote dialogue on social justice as an integral part of NASCAR’s diversity and inclusion work with its drivers,” a statement from NASCAR read. “Reddick also leverages his partnership with Jordan Brand and his team, 23XI Racing, to engage celebrities and influencers like J. Balvin as an opportunity to expand NASCAR’s reach to diverse audiences.”

After the award ceremony, Reddick expressed his thanks and gratitude.

“An honor last night to be recognized. Thank you to NASCAR and our great partners for making our sport more inclusive every day,” the driver said on social media.

Tonight, Reddick and the Cup Series take on the Busch Light Clash. Due to incoming weather, NASCAR had to make a decision to move the race to tonight.

Tyler Reddick, Cup Series drivers taking on The Clash

A day earlier than planned, the Busch Light Clash will take place at the LA Coliseum. California is bracing for historic rain and snowfall in certain areas. Flooding is going to be severe as well.

While Tyler Reddick and the Cup Series were planning on a Sunday race day, it is now Saturday. No heat races or Last Chance Qualifier this weekend. Drivers will practice, and qualifying will be set by the fastest times in that session. 22 drivers will be selected based on time. A 23rd driver will be selected for the main event based on 2023 points standings.

So, get ready for tonight. Practice/qualifying is set for 5:35 PM EST on FS1 for those who want to watch at home. Then, we will go racing in the Busch Light Clash at 8:00 PM EST, also on FS1.

It seems most if not all drivers, are happy about the decision. So far, there haven’t been complaints from the garage. Tyler Reddick, who has been fast in both races at the Coliseum, hopes to finish the job in 2024 with a win. On short notice, too.
