Tyler Reddick joins the 23XI Racing tradition and wins at Kansas He also moves on to the Round of 12 in the NASCAR Playoffs. It came down to Denny Hamlin and Reddick over the last couple of dozen laps. However, the 23XI Racing driver came out on top of his owner.

This track ate up tires and ruined more than a few drivers’ days. Martin Truex Jr. was out of the race after just a few laps, Bubba Wallace had a flat tire put him down multiple laps, and there were more problems throughout the playoff field.

This came down to an overtime restart. Tyler Reddick went three-wide with the pack as overtime got started and kept his foot on the gas. Eventually, he made it clear of the field and charged ahead to win.

Reddick made an aggressive move underneath Joey Logano and Erik Jones to take the lead.

Chris Buescher had a flat tire with about 10 laps to go in the race. That brought out the caution flag and Denny Hamlin had to make his “money stop” on pit road. They were able to do it, too. He came out behind Erik Jones, Kyle Busch, and Joey Logano for the restart. Tyler Reddick was just too good on the final two laps. Hamlin passed everyone except for the 45 car.

Reddick gets a spot in the Round of 12 and his second win of the season, his first since COTA earlier this season. Hamlin led 63 laps, but couldn’t hold onto the lead in that final restart.

This race was very interesting. Tires got tore up. There were plenty of caution flags for cars spinning and blowing tires. Kyle Larson looked to be the best car on the day for most of the afternoon. Then it was Denny Hamlin out front and controlling the race.

Even though Hamlin led for 60+ laps, he didn’t lead when it counted most. It looked like he was going to be able to steal the win on the final restart, but after getting stuck behind Larson, it just wasn’t going to happen.

Reddick will now be in a great position to move on to the Round of 8. He gets some playoff points, moves on to the Round of 12. This is the first time that he has made it out of the first round in his Cup Series career.

What Tyler Reddick does now is up to him. He could come back and race hard at Bristol, go for another win. Perhaps he turns his attention to Texas, the track he won at last year, and tries to get ready to repeat his win.

With all of the playoff implications, each driver that wrecked meant a new wrinkle in the playoff picture. Where others fell in the standings, other drivers took advantage of the moment and made the most of it.
