Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill believes Colorado’s two-way star Travis Hunter needs to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Evidently, Hill was impressed with Hunter’s incredible play against North Dakota State in Thursday’s opener for the Buffaloes, where the two-way star willed Colorado to victory. Afterwards, the Dolphins pass-catcher took to social media to heap praise on Hunter and his potential.

“Whoever got that first pick , idc if you need a Lineman or QB Travis Hunter is one of one,” the Miami Dolphins superstar posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Even if it’s not the Dolphins who have the top pick, and it likely won’t be if Hill and his teammates live up to their potential, the wide receiver is starting the campaign for Hunter. While we don’t usually see wide receivers or cornerbacks go first overall, Hunter, being that he plays both positions, could break the mold.

He’s already doing so in college. Throughout his time under Deion Sanders, Hunter has proven to be one of the most dynamic players in the sport. Now that Colorado’s in the Big 12 and the team will be under the microscope even more, perhaps NFL teams will see enough to take Hunter with the first pick.

Regardless, it’s a long time away, and a ton can change over the course of a football season, but Travis Hunter is proving to be one of the more exhilarating players to watch in all of the sport, and Tyreek Hill has the young man’s back.

Deion Sanders on Travis Hunter’s performance: ‘That’s who he is’

Alas, North Dakota State wasn’t going to be an easy match for Colorado on Thursday’s big stage. The Bison have been a powerhouse at the FCS level, and Deion Sanders even pointed out the caliber of opponent his team was going to face.

That’s why Travis Hunter said CU had to have the respect for NDSU. In fact, he did plenty of homework to get ready for the matchup.

“We had the respect for them,” Hunter said. “Every opponent, we’ve got to respect. We came out – this is my first time playing with this group of guys, so we know we’ve got to respect everybody. This is our first time playing with each other. We don’t know how each other plays. So we have to go out and respect them.

“We watch a lot of film. I watched 10 hours of film this week on just those guys. We had to respect them, and it showed why we had to respect them because they came out to play.”

As for Hunter’s huge night, Sanders didn’t sound surprised. He said the two-way star shows off his ability in practice, and he just did it in a game setting Thursday night.

“Travis, that’s who he is,” Sanders told ESPN’s Quint Kessenich. “We get a chance to see that every practice, every day. He don’t take days off unless we force him to. But that’s just who he is. The whole receiving corps, the offensive line did a great job protecting our quarterback. And our quarterback was excellent.”
