Tua Tagovailoa connected with Tyreek Hill for a highlight reel 80-yard touchdown during the Dolphins season opener against the Jaguars on Sunday.

Hill, who was detained before arriving at Hard Rock Stadium for a traffic violation, addressed the elephant in the room after the play. The NFL star acted as though he was handcuffed as one of his teammates acted as a police officer taking him away.

Perhaps his speed was too fast as he blew past the Jacksonville defense. His teammate had to pull him over.

Jokes aside, the pitch and catch was good for Hill’s sixth reception of the day. He improved his receiving totals to 109 yards and a touchdown in Week 1.

Hill’s detainment was due to a driving citation and was allegedly was in a verbal spat with the police on scene, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington on SportsCenter ahead of opening kickoff.

The Dolphins released a statement following the incident, confirming Hill would play in the season opener.

““This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police,” the statement read. “He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”

Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus called the entire situation “mind-boggling” when he spoke live on ESPN pregame. He encouragement there to be a review of the incident to ensure that Hill wasn’t treated unfairly.

The Miami-Dade Police Department director Stephanie V. Daniels also released a statement on the matter following the viral moment.

“We are aware of the recent detainment of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill by Miami-Dade Police Department officers,” the statement read. “I have requested an immediate review of all details surrounding the incident, and we are also reviewing available body camera footage.
