Engaging with fans on social media this week, Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill revealed who his top five quarterbacks are ahead of the 2024 season. Two of the quarterbacks he selected have thrown passes to him, however, the other three have not.

Hill named Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, his own QB Tua Tagovailoa, Ravens dual-threat Lamar Jackson, Cowboys veteran Dak Prescott and Buccaneers starter Baker Mayfield.

The former Kansas City receiver picking Mahomes is no surprise. He’s most NFL fans’ top quarterback, and for Hill personally, he’s been most successful with No. 15. In 58 games played with Mahomes, he had 331 catches for 4,638 yards with 46 touchdowns. He was the former Texas Tech standout’s top target in both 2018 and 2021 before departing for the Dolphins.

Even Tua Tagovailoa wouldn’t argue against coming second to Mahomes, though he and Hill were on fire last season. “Cheetah” ended the season with the most receiving yards in the league with 1,799 and he tied for first in touchdown receptions with 13.

At No. 3, Hill chose the league’s Most Valuable Player for the 2023 season – Lamar Jackson. Of all the quarterbacks on the Dolphins star’s list, only Jackson and Mahomes have won MVP awards. Despite appreciating veteran quarterbacks, Hill did not put Jets QB Aaron Rodgers on his list. Rodgers is one of the other active quarterbacks with an MVP award (or four).

The other two quarterbacks on his list – Dak Prescott and Baker Mayfield – have no Super Bowls or MVP awards on their resumes. However, both had great seasons in 2023. While Mayfield revamped the Buccaneers offense with Dave Canales, Prescott led the league in passing touchdowns and finished with his highest completion percentage since entering the NFL.

Hill wants to see Tagovailoa paid

Having already secured his own extension, Jaylen Waddle was very vocal this offseason about star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa getting his payday. Tagovailoa is entering his fifth year in the league and as it stands, he’ll play on a fifth-year option that’s worth $23.17 million. Like Waddle, Hill also wants to see Tagovailoa get a big check.

“Tua should’ve been paid,” Hill said. “I’ve been saying that this all offseason. I know we have a great front office and they are going to get it done.

“A lot of people are comparing it to the Jared Goff situation and stuff like that. But I feel like Tua is supposed to be up there with some of them guys and passed some of them guys, because just understanding his story and just the progression of how he’s getting better each year and how he’s carrying this offense, it’s crazy.”
