How about a little NCAA flavor for Bristol? The College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas is getting into NASCAR. This week at The Last Great Colosseum, Brandon Jones will drive the No. 1 Tricon Garage Toyota Tundra with a Razorback paint scheme.

College and university paint schemes are almost always fantastic. Nothing looks better on the hood of a car/truck than a college mascot or logo.

The University of Arkansas College of Engineering is set to sponsor Brandon Jones. I think fans are really going to love this truck and paint scheme. If you like the Razorbacks, then you are going to have to try and get this as a diecast.

Any chance we can get John Calipari to the race? He’s probably busy trying to recruit the next five-star one-and-done to his team. Just check out this truck, folks. Arkansas Razorbacks on a NASCAR Truck Series ride.

Fun fact: NASCAR has raced in Arkansas in the past. However, they have not raced in the state since 1955. Memphis-Arkansas Speedway hosted the Grand National Series three times between 1954 and 1955. Those races were won by Buck Baker, Speedy Thompson, and Fonty Flock.

These college paint schemes really are some of my favorites. Even when it is a school within the university sponsoring a car, the colors and logos just pop. Going into Tennessee, not far from Rocky Top, and sponsoring a truck for the NASCAR weekend is pretty bold for Arkansas, regardless.

Brandon Jones is coming off a major weekend at Darlington. The full-time Xfinity Series driver is hoping that the momentum continues. He will have double duty this weekend, coming off his first win since 2022.

Brandon Jones teaming up with Arkansas for NASCAR weekend

Going to Bristol is a challenge. Sponsors, drivers, teams – they all know that it won’t be easy to get a win at The Last Great Colosseum. Tricon Garage could not have planned out the Jones schedule any better for this season.

The No. 1 truck is shared between a few drivers. Jones hops in this week. As he takes Arkansas around the half-mile NASCAR track, he will hope to have a weekend like he just had at Darlington.

In the Xfinity Series Brandon Jones was in it from the start. He didn’t lead the most laps, but hung in the entire race. When it came time for him to make a move for the lead, he was able to do just that and hold onto it to the finish. First win since Martinsville in Week 8 of the 2022 season. Three years of waiting.

Bristol is a new challenge. This high-speed short track challenges the best of the best each year. Jones has two chances at a checkered flag. Can he give Arkansas their first NASCAR win?
