The National Football League as a business is as profitable as ever, as evidenced by the latest NFL team valuations. Sportico released the newest data ahead of the 2022 season and revealed that NFL teams are now worth an average of $4.1 billion, which is up 18% from a year ago. The league’s broadcast ratings rose 9% in 2021.

According to the outlet, their valuations are derived from interviews “with more than 30 bankers, lawyers, team executives, owners and consultants involved in the sport,” and public documents.

Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys are still the highest-valued franchise going into 2022 at $7.64 billion. The figure is up 10% year-over-year, which was one of the lowest percentage increases of all 32 teams. Jones bought the Cowboys in 1989 for $140 million. The team is the most valuable across all sports with a $630 million edge on the New York Yankees.

Coming off of their Super Bowl victory, the Los Angeles Rams pushed past the New England Patriots after a 26% increase in value from 2021. The organization is now worth $5.91 billion.
