Should Adam Hadwin decide to storm a green to celebrate at the U.S. Open this week, he’ll have the proper gear at his disposal. The USGA left the PGA Tour golfer quite the gift following his mishap during last weekend’s Canadian Open.

For those who might’ve missed it, Hadwin got tackled on the 18th green following the RBC Canadian Open. He rushed onto the course with a champagne bottle, trying to celebrate with his friend and fellow Canadian, Nick Taylor, who claimed the top spot in the tournament.

That didn’t fly with security. Hadwin got tackled to the ground and became quite the punchline on Sunday. Fortunately, the USGA stepped up and presented the golfer with some gear for this weekend’s event at Los Angeles Country Club:

It might be wise for Hadwin to keep this little gift tucked away … just in case. Although he probably shouldn’t try playing in the vest and hard hat. It might throw off his game a little bit.

For those who did miss it, here’s video of Hadwin getting leveled by security:

Security doesn’t really have much time to decipher between PGA Tour stars and crazed fans. More than likely, Hadwin probably understands that. Which is probably why he won’t be rushing a green again anytime soon.

Even if he does have the proper apparel.

Fortunately, Adam Hadwin’s wife, Jessica, provided the golf world with a positive update after the incident. Although nobody suspected the golfer suffered any serious injuries, she put any concerns to rest.

“Sorry to leave y’all hanging, had to get the toddler ready for bed,” Jessica wrote on Twitter. “I’m thrilled to report that (Adam) is still among the land of the living and in true Canadian form, apologized to the security guard for being tackled.”

So, even though Adam probably felt a little sore on Monday morning, he seems to be doing just fine. That’s a good thing, because the U.S. Open tends to be the toughest test in golf.

Adam and his fellow golfers head to the Los Angeles Country Club this weekend for the 123rd edition of the major championship. Already, the length of the rough has been a topic of conversation.

It should be a fun event, as the U.S. Open always presents different challenges to golfers. Action from LACC begins on Thursday, June 15 and runs through Sunday, June 18.
