Report: Utah Jazz trading Kelly Olynyk, Ochai Agbaji to Toronto Raptors for Kira Lewis, Otto Porter, picks
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports Thursday that the Utah Jazz are finalizing a trade that will send center Kelly Olynyk and guard Ochai Agbaji to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Kira Lewis, Otto Porter, and a 2024 first-round pick.
The Jazz are currently the 10 seed in the West with a 26-26 record, and will be moving off of two players that have appeared in the second and third most games for them so far this season.
The Raptors on the other hand continue their streak of trades, dealing All-Star forward Pascal Siakam in January to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, and three first-round picks. Wojnarowski also reported that the 2024 first-round pick Toronto receives will be least favorable between the Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Houston Rockets.
Olynyk is a seasoned NBA veteran who will be joining the sixth organization of his 10-year NBA career after being selected with the No. 13 overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics out of Gonzaga. He averaged 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game last season as for the Jazz, starting every single one of his 68 game appearances for Utah. But this season off of the bench he’s averaged 8.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
The 32-year-old Canadian has appeared in 48 playoff games in his career between his time with the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, and will be joined by the younger Agbaji in Toronto.

Agbaji is in the midst of his second season in the NBA after the Jazz selected him No. 14 overall in the 2022 draft out of Kansas, where he helped the Jayhawks take home the 2022 National Championship and earned the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. In his short NBA career he’s made 110 game appearances and started in 32 of them, averaging 6.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
Like Onlnyk, Lewis was the No. 13 overall pick in his respective draft class. Selected by the New Orleans Pelicans out of Alabama in the 2020 NBA Draft. Lewis has averaged 5.4 points per game off of the bench in his career and in his fourth season with the Pelicans he was a part of the Siakam trade. Being sent to the Pacers for cash considerations before being traded to Toronto where he played in just one game before now joining the Jazz.
Porter is another 10-year NBA veteran who’s averaged 10.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in his NBA career. He’s only appeared in 23 games for the Raptors during his time in Toronto and was also a member of the Golden State Warriors 2022 NBA Championship team.
