Van Jefferson injury: Steelers WR exits game in first quarter, questionable to return vs. Browns
The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered an injury in the first quarter of their Thursday Night Football matchup with the Cleveland Browns. Steelers wideout Van Jefferson injured his quad and was expected to be questionable to return to the game, according to the team’s Senior Director of Communications, Burt Lauten. Shortly after he tweeted that, Lauten updated fans on his status and said that Jefferson is expected to return to Thursday night’s game.
Kaylee Hartung also addressed the quad issue on the Amazon Prime broadcast, noted that it had been bothering Van Jefferson all week in practice.
Jefferson was a big part of the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win after being drafted by the Rams in the second round in the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent four years in Los Angeles before moving over to Atlanta for the 2023 season.
The former Florida Gators standout hasn’t been as productive in the league in recent years after landing on the injured reserve midway through the 2022 season. He played just five games that year.
