Verizon 200 at the Brickyard: Racing Insights predicts complete of order of finish
The NASCAR Cup Series heads back to the Racing Capital of the World on Sunday for the road course event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Verizon 200. It’s one of the sport’s final races of the 2023 regular season
Drivers get the opportunity to show off their road course skills this weekend, which should make for an interesting event. It also provides some drivers — Martin Truex Jr., Chase Elliott and Tyler Reddick, specifically — a great chance to flex their muscle on the track.
Prior to Sunday’s race, Racing Insights predicted the complete order of finish for the Verizon 200. It projects Reddick to take home the checkered flag, which would mark his second win of the season.
Here’s a look at how Racing Insights projected the complete top-10 for the Verizon 200 at IMS:
- Tyler Reddick
- Kyle Larson
- Chris Buescher
- AJ Allmendinger
- Chase Elliott
- Shane van Gisbergen
- Kyle Busch
- William Byron
- Martin Truex Jr.
- Michael McDowell
Reddick is the reigning champion at Indianapolis, taking home a victory at last year’s event. Could he make it back-to-back wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway?
He’s also already won a road course event this year. Reddick crossed the finish line first at Circuit of the Americas, his lone win of the 2023 regular season.

Odds from BetMGM tab Truex as the favorite to win Sunday’s race at 4-1. He’s a dominant driver on the road courses and already owns three victories on the 2023 season.
Reddick is listed at 11-2 odds while Elliott comes in at 15-2.
NASCAR modifies restart zone for Verizon 200
For this year’s Verizon 200, NASCAR has modified the restart zone. An announcement was made earlier in the week.
Drivers are going to be able to break their line and change lanes as soon as they leave the restart zone during the Verizon 200. They will no longer have to wait for the start/finish line to do so. Some see it as a good change, while others think it is NASCAR just making things more difficult than they need to be.
In order to make sure teams and drivers understand what to do, NASCAR sent out a video that will be used in the drivers meeting this week. Hopefully, we don’t see any botched restarts with the new change.
Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Verizon 200 will be broadcast on NBC.
