Victim in alleged Tyreek Hill slapping incident at Miami marina willing to press charges
After initially not pressing charges, the victim of Tyreek Hill‘s alleged slapping at a Miami marina has reportedly changed their mind and is willing to press charges against the Dolphins star, according to NBC Miami.
Hill and his friends reportedly boarded a boat without permission, leading to the alleged physical contact between the Miami Dolphins’ superstar and an employee of Kelly Fishing Fleet. The victim reported that he was slapped on the back of the neck.
Boat employees told the police that the wideout told them “I can buy you and the boat” and “I’m No. 10 with the Miami Dolphins,” according to a senior ranking official within law enforcement.
The police report said the man in question was initially pushed away from the victim by a member of the group. He then allegedly charged at the victim and was restrained by several members of his group.
The report also said the incident is on surveillance video, but footage is not yet public.
Although the police report indicates that the victim is willing to press charges, it’s unclear where the case goes from here. Police reportedly told the alleged victim he would have to go to the state attorney’s office if he wanted to pursue criminal charges.
Dolphins respond to Hill incident
“We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Tyreek, his representatives and the NFL. We will reserve further comment at this time,” a Dolphins spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday.
As far as the league is concerned, even if Hill doesn’t face charges, he could still be in violation of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.

Hill, an eight-year veteran of the NFL, is gearing up for his second season with the Dolphins after coming over via trade from the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the 2022 season.
After recording four 1,000-yard seasons and winning a Super Bowl in Kansas City, Hill set career highs across the board in his first season in Miami. Hill hauled in 119 receptions for 1,710 yards and seven scores.
If the “Cheetah” does end up facing charges for the incident at the marina, it won’t be his first time up against assault charges.
As a player at Oklahoma State, he received three years of probation in a plea deal over domestic violence, which resulted in his removal from the football and track teams. He landed at West Alabama and despite his success on the field, he wound up going in the fifth round of the draft.
