Vikings receiver Jordan Addison arrested for DUI in Los Angeles
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and former USC Trojans star Jordan Addison was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after being caught asleep at the wheel near LAX, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. Police were dispatched on Friday night to a report of a disabled vehicle blocking lanes from the westbound Glen Anderson (105) Freeway to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol reported a white Rolls-Royce blocking the number one lane of the freeway “with the driver asleep behind the wheel.” After a DUI investigation, Addison was arrested but was released early Saturday morning.
The Vikings said in a statement: “We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident.”
Addison, 22, was selected No. 23 overall by the Vikings in the 2023 NFL Draft. He made the All-Rookie Team last season after catching 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns in 17 regular season games. And based on the work he put in during the offseason, Addison will likely be better in his second NFL season.
“Jordan Addison had as good of an offseason program as really you can ask for,” Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said in June, per ESPN. “[He is] a guy that had a ton of success in Year 1. And really, from a standpoint of getting a little stronger, getting a little bit more comfortable playing through contact and still playing with that great burst and transition that he has, you saw some real growth there [this spring].”

How Jordan Addison will improve in 2024
When it comes to which part of Addison’s game he focused on this offseason, he said releasing off the line of scrimmage better can help him take his game to the next level.
“That’s been a main focus for me, and I feel like it’s been paying off. My work is showing out there,” Addison said in May, per the Vikings’ official website. “Having a plan once I get to the line, being decisive and just really making sure I’m locked into my release.
“Last year, I wasn’t as confident in my releases,” he continued. “I wasn’t being decisive. I didn’t have [a] plan when I was coming up to the line; I was kind of just freelancing, trying to do what I could do. Make something work. But now, like I said, it’s my focus.”
Addison joined the Vikings after spending the 2022 season at USC. He played for the Pittsburgh Panthers in 2020 and 2021 and won the Biletnikoff Award during the 2021 season.
