Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson is one of the best receivers in the game today. Late in the game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon, he made one of the best catches in NFL history. On 4th and 18 with the game on the line, Kirk Cousins lobbed up a prayer to the right sideline to Jefferson. Cousins dropped back to the 18-yard line and launched the ball all the way to the Bills 43-yard line, where Jefferson leaped in the air, bringing the football down with one hand. Keep in mind, Jefferson was blanketed by Bills defensive back Cam Lewis. However, that was no match for the former LSU star’s spectacular ball skills.

It’s easier just to watch the video. Check out the amazing grab here.

The catch in many ways reminds you of the one-handed leaping snag that another former LSU star, Odell Beckham, Jr., made on Nov. 23, 2014 with the New York Giants. That catch catapulted him to superstardom across the globe. Jefferson is already a superstar, but today’s catch puts him in an entirely different stratosphere. Simply put, that’s one of the best catches you will ever see in NFL history.

Hauling in spectacular catches is nothing new for the former LSU star. According to NextGenStats, Jefferson was responsible for nine catches today with a sub-50% completion probability, the most in a game by any receiver in the NextGenStats era. No other player has had more than six. Since entering the league in 2020, he’s hauled in 54 catches with a sub-50% completion probability, the most in the NFL.

Jefferson had a spectacular day for the Vikings–hauling in 193 receiving yards (career-high) and a touchdown on 10 catches. That now gives him 20 games of 100-plus receiving yards in his first three seasons in the league. He’s the first receiver to ever accomplish the feat in NFL history.

Tied for second on that list are Odell Beckham, Jr. and Randy Moss. The Vikings won in a 33-30 classic in overtime. Sunday’s game between Buffalo and Minnesota was undoubtedly one of the best games of the season.

The Vikings currently sit at 8-1 overall and they’re in first place in the NFC North. If they keep playing like they did on Sunday, they could be Super Bowl contenders in the playoffs.
