The Minnesota Vikings will be down a key pass-catcher for the remainder of a Christmas Eve matchup with the Detroit Lions as rookie wideout Jordan Addison is out for the remainder of the game. The Vikings announced Addison would be out for the rest of the game at the start of the second half.

Addison apparently injured his ankle late in the first half. He came off the field and went to the injury tent after quarterback Nick Mullens threw a deep interception. Addison seemed to injure himself by colliding with a teammate while chasing down safety Kerby Joseph following the interception.

Shortly after he was sidelined, the broadcast noted he was being listed as questionable to return with an ankle injury. He reportedly then walked to the locker room shortly before the game went to halftime, going ahead of the team.

When Addison left the game, he had a single catch for two yards. The Vikings entered the half trailing the Lions, 17-14.

The Vikings got some help from Justin Jefferson late in the half

Justin Jefferson returned to the Minnesota Vikings lineup for Week 16’s matchup vs. the Detroit Lions — and let his presence be known with a spectacular touchdown catch in the first half.

With just over 30 seconds left before halftime, Mullens hit Jefferson in the right side of the end zone for a nifty touchdown over a Detroit defender. Jefferson finished his first two quarters back on the field with four receptions for 85 yards and the aforementioned score.

Derrick Henry got in on passing touchdowns on Sunday

The Tennessee Titans reached into their bag of red zone tricks during the early moments of the second quarter on Sunday’s Christmas Eve matchup vs. the Seattle Seahawks.

Titans running back Derrick Henry was given a routine carry by returning quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo split out on a flag route unguarded and before Henry broke the line of scrimmage — found Okonkwo wide open in the end zone for the opening touchdown of the day.

The play was good for Henry’s fourth touchdown pass of his career, and second of the 2023-24 season.

Henry is on track to securing his fifth 1,000-yard rushing season in the last six years, having compiled 884 yards on the season before Sunday’s matchup vs. Seattle. He’s also contributed over 200 yards receiving for Tennessee this season as well.

If he surpasses the 1,000-yard threshold, Henry will be less than 700 yards away from a 10,000-yard career. He has nearly 1,500 career receiving yards, making him one of the most productive running backs in the NFL over the last decade.
