Virginia vs. Maryland odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

The stage is set for a showdown between the Maryland Terrapins and the Virginia Cavaliers to renew their rivalry this weekend (September 14th). The Terrapins won last year’s meeting between the two schools in College Park and in blowout fashion, 42-14. With this year’s version being played in Charlottesville, the Cavaliers will surely have revenge on their minds.
Virginia enters the game with a 2-0 record, after storming from behind on Saturday night to stun Wake Forest in Winston Salem, 31-30. The Cavaliers scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to prevail in what was a highly entertaining affair.
Third-string quarterback Grady Brosterhous plowed his way into the end zone for a one-yard sneak with 2:07 left in the fourth quarter for the game-winner. The Cavaliers got another impressive performance from their electrifying signal-caller, Anthony Colandrea, who finished with 357 passing yards and three touchdowns, while tossing in two interceptions.
Virginia’s leading receiver was Malachi Fields, who hauled in 11 catches for 148 yards. He hauled in a critical catch on fourth down late in the fourth quarter, extending the Cavaliers’ drive and allowing them to score the game-winning touchdown. Tight end Tyler Neville delivered, hauling in four catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns.

Maryland quarterback Billy Edwards, Jr. completed 26 of his 34 passes for 253 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns with one interception.

Receiver Tai Felton graded out as the best receiver in the Big Ten in the opening week, after he hauled in seven catches for 178 yards and two touchdowns against UConn. He had yet another big night on Saturday night against Michigan State, hauling in 11 catches for 152 receiving yards and a touchdown. Felton is one of the most dynamic players on their roster and will be a name that Virginia has to account for.
Maryland’s sophomore receiver, Dylan Wade, also hauled in a touchdown catch on Saturday against MSU.
Can Virginia keep the hot streak rolling? Or can Maryland spoil the party? The odds, presented by FanDuel Sportsbook, currently have Maryland listed as the favorite by 2.5 points with the over/under set at 53.5 points.
