Guerrero’s classy gesture reminded us that there are some things out there bigger than sports. The move was praised by many on social media on Saturday and rightfully so.
Ironically enough, the fan was wearing the jersey of the son of another MLB legend. Bo Bichette, the son of former Colorado Rockies star, Dante Bichette. It’s a small gesture that goes an incredibly long way. The memory will surely last a lifetime for the young fan and everyone watching.
Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. has great things on the horizon
Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. was marked as the best prospect in baseball from a very young age and with good reason. When he was just 16 years old, Baseball America tabbed him as the top international free agent. That’s when he signed with the Toronto Blue Jays on July 2, 2015, for $3.9 million. He hit his first professional home run on June 24. It was a two-run blast in a 4-2 loss to the Bristol Pirates.

It took him a few years to develop, but once he did, Guerrero’s game really started to bloom. In April of 2019, the Toronto Blue Jays called him up from Triple-A. During his rookie season with the Blue Jays, he blasted 15 home runs. In 2021, the Canadian native erupted for the best numbers of his career thus far. Guerrero finished second in MVP voting after he blasted 48 home runs, tying for the major league lead in home runs with Salvador Perez.
He also led the league in runs scored (123) and led the majors in total bases (363). Last season in 2022, he belted 32 home runs and brought in 97 RBIs. Much like his father, Guerrero is one of the best power hitters in baseball. Not only that, much like his dad, Guerrero also won a Gold Glove Award in 2022, showcasing his dynamic skills as a fielder.
His father was former Montreal Expos legend Vladimir Guerrero. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018. Guerrero was a nine-time All-Star during his incredible career and even brought home MVP honors in 2004.
