Warren Sapp calls out Pat McAfee for Will Howard report, defends Shedeur Sanders

Warren Sapp is fed up with all the “lies” coming out of last week’s NFL Scouting Combine. And he took direct aim at ESPN personality Pat McAfee for his “wild stories” about Ohio State quarterback Will Howard.
During a Wednesday appearance on Thee Pregame Show podcast, Sapp — who is entering his second season as a Colorado assistant coach under fellow NFL legend Deion Sanders — went on the defensive in support of former Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was described as “brash” and “arrogant” by an anoynmous NFL assistant after meeting with teams in Indianapolis.
“I’m telling you, it’s the most diabolical thing you can go into … and then they want to make a big stink about Shedeur not throwing. But what about the running back (Ashton Jeanty) not running? What we talking about here?” Sapp said.
That’s where Sapp went in on McAfee, who revealed a story about Howard reportedly throwing in a hotel parking lot at midnight ET two days before Saturday’s quarterback workouts inside Lucas Oil Stadium during The Pat McAfee Show last Friday from Indianapolis.

“And then you hear these wild stories about the quarterback from Ohio State out in the parking lot throwing the ball up … stop it. Just stop it. Stop the lies, stop the fallacy,” Sapp continued. “Ain’t nobody out at 11 o’clock throwing no ball in Indianapolis, it’s freezing cold. We’ve all been there in the beginning of February. There ain’t no throwing it out in no parking lot, Pat McAfee. Stop the lies.
“‘Well my sources tell me, 11 o’clock at night.’ Come on, man, just stop. Just stop. I’ve had enough.”
Sapp wasn’t done, doubling down on the anonymous NFL quarterback coach that allegedly came away from his team’s interview with Shedeur Sanders with a negative impression. Of course, that wasn’t the only report critical of Sanders’ attitude during Combine interviews, with former ESPN draft expert Todd McShay revealing a damning review of the former Colorado quarterback from multiple teams.
“And then we’re talking about a quarterback coach who’s not a decision-maker that wants to make that call about our quarterback?” Sapp said. “Dawg, I’ve been working for the last 48 hours to get his name. If I get his name, oh buddy, we’re going to do a deep-dive into his life. He’s going to wish he never (said anything about Shedeur). If you’re not a decision-maker, shut up. Shut up. … And if he doesn’t understand what it means to be the baby of a family like that. … He’s the day-walker. Because he’s been groomed to play that position his whole life. … Let’s stop.”
