Warrick Dunn talks role as Atlanta Falcons minority owner, Tide tailgating with fans
Warrick Dunn was an electrifying running back while playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. Once his NFL career ended, he got involved in the business side of the league and became a Falcons minority owner. On3 recently spoke to Dunn about his role as a Falcons limited partner which began shortly after retiring from football.
“Most people don’t know this, but I’ve been a partner since 2009, I’m just low-key with it,” Dunn told On3. “It’s been a great journey over the years, just an opportunity to, one, stay connected to the game, as close as I’ve been connected to it, of just being able to see the ups and downs of a football team franchise.
“Just in playing the game, I knew all of that, but now I’m looking from a business side perspective, all of the things that go into building the team, things that happen on game day outside the stadium, also inside the stadium, all those things. Just really learning the business side of the game has given me a really good outlook on opportunities and those things.”
Dunn works with majority owner Arthur Blank who purchased the team in 2002, the same year Dunn joined the Falcons after spending six seasons with the Bucs. But what does Dunn want to see from the Falcons going forward?
Warrick Dunn shares more on Falcons ownership
“I just want to see us continue to grow, and continue to engage families, fans, people in the Atlanta area who are Falcons fans, engaging them, how we can also help and point them in the right direction, too,” Dunn explained. “It’s not just about football, it’s about community, and because of Mr. Blank and his ownership, and how he leads by example, it’s really engaging everybody, and how we can help everybody be the best, but also, have some of the greatest Falcons fans come out and celebrate on game day.”

With Dunn being a part of the Falcons ownership group, he has partnered with Tide to take part in its #TideTackles campaign. The former Florida State Seminoles star recently tailgated with Falcons fans while explaining the benefits of using Tide.
Warrick Dunn enjoys his partnership with Tide
“It’s been a really good partnership opportunity for me to actually get back out, Dunn said. “I did the Falcons tailgate, walking around, meeting fans, and really just engaging individuals, but also letting them know that Tide products are available and that Tide tackles tough stains, and to please utilize the product, take advantage of it, but just know that Tide’s here to support you, the community, and I’m here to help elevate that.
“For me, it was an honor to be out and representing, and partner with Tide, to really go out and meet Falcons fans, people who probably wouldn’t really see me out in a lot of places. To really engage with them, and to take pictures, and to hear all their comments, and ask questions about my life and those things, it was really good to engage with them. I am thankful, and the partnership really helped elevate my understanding more.”
