The Commanders drafted Robinson with the No. 98 overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. As a fifth-year senior in 2021, Robinson rushed for 1,343 yards and 14 touchdowns to help Alabama to the national championship game — an eventual 33-18 loss to Georgia. He also got involved in the passing game, catching 35 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns.

There was plenty of confusion early as people attempted to learn exactly what happened to the young star out of Alabama. An additional NFL Network report from Tom Pelissero added a few more details about the shooting, indicating that Robinson was shot at least two times in the lower body and was hospitalized in stable condition.
