The Cowboys’ defense made sure tonight’s Thursday Night Football game will be in the house of haunted horrors vault for New Orleans quarterback Taysom Hill. He threw four interceptions, the last of which was a pick six to Dallas defensive lineman Carlos Watkins.

Watch as the former Clemson Tiger took the interception 29-yards for the house call.

The touchdown score help put the Cowboys up 27-10 in the game with 2:52 remaining in the fourth quarter. Dallas won the game 27-17.

Watkins was a fourth round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. The pick-six was the first of Watkins’ career. Before the Cowboys, he spent four years with the Houston Texans. The 2021 season is his first with the Dallas Cowboys. He’s racked up 94 tackles so far in his NFL career.

Carlos Watkins at Clemson

The former Clemson Tiger was named first team All-ACC in 2015 and first team All-American in 2016 by CBS Sports. In 2016, he racked up 82 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks in 15 games. Watkins’ sack total in 2016 was the highest by a Clemson defensive tackle in school history, breaking the mark set by Jim Stuckey, William Perry, and Michael Dean Perry.

Other contributors in the Dallas victory

Other Dallas defenders got in on the fun as well, such as Trevon Diggs. Amazingly, Taysom Hill tried to test Diggs, and that didn’t go so well.

Apparently, Hill must have forgotten that Diggs is up for Defensive Player of the Year honors in the National Football League.

The Cowboys’ offense showed up as well on Thursday night, with running back Tony Pollard making a house call of his own, a 58-yard touchdown run where he made the New Orleans Saints defenders look silly.

Ezekiel Elliott admitted that he’s been dealing with a knee injury the past few months, but Pollard has taken advantage of the extra opportunities and he’s shined in a big way in 2021.

Dallas will hope to keep the positive momentum going as they face the Washington Football Team on Dec. 12. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM EST.
