Chicago Bears wide receiver Damiere Byrd made one of the biggest catches of the year today. With 1:01 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Chicago Bears were trailing the Seattle Seahawks 24-23 and they decided to go for the two-point conversion and the win. Then Chicago backup quarterback Nick Foles dropped back and rolled to his right. He lofted the ball in the back of the end zone, where he found Byrd.

Byrd then jumped in the back of the end zone with two Seahawks’ defenders draped all over him, and somehow managed to pull in the game-winning score, while getting his feet in. It was truly one of the most incredible grabs of the 2021 season.

Not only was it incredible body control by Byrd in getting his feet down in the back of the end zone, but it showed incredible hand strength, too. He did a great job of holding onto the ball with one hand as he went to the ground. Chicago would go on to win the game in thrilling fashion, 25-24.

Byrd has been making plays for the Bears throughout the season and even had a game-breaking 54-yard touchdown catch a few weeks ago against the Green Bay Packers. Byrd has electrifying speed in the open field and has been known to make some highlight-reel worthy plays throughout his NFL career.

Let’s just say he added another incredible catch to his resume today. No matter what he does for the rest of his career, it’s going to be tough to top the one he made today. The former South Carolina product etched his name in Chicago Bears‘ fans hearts with that amazing grab.

Sure, the Bears won’t be going to the playoffs, but when his team needed him the most in crunch time, he delivered and in the biggest of ways. He only had one catch for 11 yards in the game against the Seahawks, but that one grab won’t soon be forgotten.

The win was the Bears’ first win as a 7-plus point road underdog since 2015.
