WATCH: Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase connect for touchdown bomb
Just a few minutes after taking a massive hit from Packers safety Darnell Savage, Joe Burrow connected with Ja’Marr Chase for a 70-yard bomb.
The touchdown is Burrow’s second of the day, tightening Green Bay’s lead to two points, 16-14, at halftime.
Chase and Burrow have connected for five touchdowns this season, continuing their mojo from their LSU days.
In 2019, Burrow and Chase proved to be arguably the best quarterback-receiver duo in all of college football. Burrow threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns. Chase hauled in 84 receptions for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns. LSU went undefeated and won the national championship.
Joe Burrow smacked on the run
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow went down in the second quarter versus the Green Bay Packers after taking a hard hit. Burrow scrambled on third down and took a walloping from Packers safety Darnell Savage instead of sliding.
The former first-round draft pick was able to walk off the field and to the sideline under his own power as the Packers led 9-7.
Burrow got the thumbs up from the Bengals medical staff to re-enter the game for the next drive.
Burrow took a low hit and then spun through the air, hitting the ground hard. He started the game 10-of-14 with 59 passing yards and a touchdown to Samaje Perine. He has nine yards on the ground as well on two carries.
The Cincinnati Bengals are 3-1 through four weeks of play in the 2021 season. They’ve amassed wins over the Vikings, Steelers and Jaguars with a loss to the Chicago Bears.
Joe Burrow has a 72.9 completion percentage and 988 yards through the air this year after an ACL tear ended his 2020 season. He also has a 9:4 touchdown-interception ratio.
Ja’Marr Chase’s hot start
Bengals rookie Ja’Marr Chase earned Rookie of the Month honors for September after a very hot start. He also got a boost to his Madden Rating.
