The Dallas Cowboys have never played a postseason football game in the month of February. But there is some football being played in Arlington this year deep into the winter months.

The Arlington Renegades of the XFL kicked off their season Saturday at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas — just a stones throw away from AT&T Stadium just a few blocks to the west.

One television reporter in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, William Joy, decided to have a little fun at the area’s big dog expense because of it.

“Even though attendance was pretty decent today, the weather probably kept a lot of people away,” Joy said. “There was a lot of people in heavy winter coats. There were a lot of people in blankets. But frankly, I think people are just exited to have a team in Arlington that actually plays football games in February.”
