Tennessee Titans fans around the world rejoice as your king has officially returned to the practice field. After Tuesday’s report, the Tennessee Titans have, in fact, designated star running back Derrick Henry for a return to the practice field. Henry has been on the injured reserve list for two months.

Jim Wyatt of tennesseetitans.com was at Wednesday’s practice and got to see the all-pro running backs return up close and personal. And he went a step further, posting this video to his Twitter account showing Henry back in practice leading the Titans running back corps.

Henry had been the best running back in the league prior to the injury, and it wasn’t even close. He worked his way into the MVP conversation before going down, rushing for 937 yards and ten touchdowns on the season. After Henry, Nick Chubb is second in the league in rushing with 584 yards. And it’s crazy to think that, although he has missed half the season, Henry can still finish the year as a 1,000-yard rusher.

The Titans have stayed strong since

Henry underwent surgery days after suffering a fractured foot in a Halloween win over the Indianapolis Colts. Now, eight weeks later, the former Alabama champion is getting back on the field for the Titans just in time for the playoffs. The Titans have a 21-day window to activate him for play.

The Titans where at 6-2 on the season when Henry went down. And most people in the sports world wrote off the Titans after the injury, but Tennessee managed to not only maintain in the AFC, but lead the pack as well. The Titans are 11-5 and in first place in the AFC playoff picture and a win on Sunday locks them in as the No. 1 seed.

The Titans are currently 11-5 overall and coming off a dominant 34-3 win over the Miami Dolphins – a victory that clinched the AFC South and put them in the AFC’s No. 1 spot. Tennessee will conclude its regular season on Sunday on the road against the Houston Texas (4-12). The kickoff is at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
