WATCH: Former UNC receiver Dyami Brown makes second NFL catch
Former North Carolina receiver Dyami Brown made his second catch of the NFL season Thursday against the New York Giants. Brown caught a 22-yard pass from quarterback Taylor Heineke, his first for positive yardage this year.
The Washington Football Team selected Brown in the third round of April’s NFL draft. He was the leading receiver for the Tar Heels this past season, corralling 55 catches for 1,099 yards and eight touchdowns. It was his second straight season with at least 1,000 yards receiving.
Currently listed as the backup to Terry McLaurin, Brown is already finding ways to demand more playing time. He brings speed to the team after running a 4.45 40-yard dash at the combine. McLaurin was just a bit faster with a 4.35 40-time.
North Carolina earned an Orange Bowl big in part thanks to Brown last season. However, Brown did not play in that game as he did not want to risk injury prior to the NFL draft.
He has a chance to make an immediate impact in his first season. Adam Humphries and Curtis Samuel are the other two starting receivers for Washington.

The Football Team won the mediocre NFC East this past season and is looking to repeat. They lost in Week 1 to the Chargers this season, 20-16.
At halftime, Washington had a 14-10 lead against the New York Giants. They will get a long break following this game before turning around to take on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills next Sunday.
Washington took a huge hit in Week 1 when it lost starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. The veteran suffered a hip injury and is expected to miss at least eight weeks. Heineke is starting his first game for the Football Team in Fitzpatrick’s absence.
What more can the rookie receiver do in the prime time matchup against a divisional foe? Could we see another catch or two from Dyami Brown?
