Buffalo Bills wide receiver and former UCF standout Gabriel Davis arrived on the biggest stage and helped lead his team to a late touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs with a career-best performance. With four receiving touchdowns, including a pair of go-ahead scores inside two minutes remaining, he cemented his legacy in NFL history.

With less than two minutes left to play, the Bills drew up a downfield route and David beat his man. After making the defender fall on a break, he stood wide open in the endzone and made the catch to put Buffalo up. A two-point conversion made the lead three, but Tyreek Hill quickly responded with a touchdown to put the Bills down by four.

On first-and-10 from the 19-yard line with 17 seconds remaining, the Bills called Davis’ name down the middle between the safeties in the front of the endzone. He caught the pass to help put Buffalo up by three, but the lead was short-lived as Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs into field goal range in just 13 seconds to send the game to overtime.

On the day, Gabriel Davis has eight catches for 201 yards and four touchdowns, setting the NFL playoff record for most receiving touchdowns in a playoff game.

NFL updates COVID-19 protocols

The NFL has released a memo to all NFL teams updating COVID-19 testing cadence, per Tom Pelissero. The letter informs the remaining teams that they will be eliminating the distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated players, who will no longer be subject to daily testing.

In a series of tweets after the initial post, Pelissero explains the thinking behind the move.

“The change is based on info gathered the past month on the Omicron variant and was approved by the NFLPA. All players and tiered staff will be subject to enhanced symptom screening, symptom-based testing and targeted surveillance testing.”

The NFL made this move injunction with the NFLPA and experts closely following the data correlating with the virus.

“NFL and NFLPA medical experts are seeing the Omicron wave receding, targeted testing is working and no complications with new 5-day return rule. Also, they’re not seeing unvaccinated people shedding virus longer as with previous variants. So all sides comfortable with this shift.”
