WATCH: Ja Morant drills spectacular half court shot at end of first half

Ja Morant is very close to becoming the face of the NBA. Game after game, the man continues to do things that will make your jaw drop. On Saturday night in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Golden State Warriors, Morant once again made “Morant Magic”, and drained a half-court shot to end the first half.

The amazing half-court shot gave Morant 17 points for the first half. Morant is blessed with a spectacular amount of athleticism and a remarkable basketball IQ. The former Murray State Racer star is one of the most popular players in the league today and it’s well deserved. The man is must-see TV every time he sets foot on the basketball court.

He recently threw down one of the best dunks of the 2021-2022 NBA season, when he sent in a vicious slam over Malik Beasley. TNT’s Ian Eagle referred to the play as a “Ja breaker,” playing on the young star’s name.

This season, Morant has averaged 27.4 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, and 6.7 assists per game. It was no surprise at all when he won the 2019-2020 NBA Rookie of the Year Award. Simply put, he’s dominated from the second he set foot in the league a few years ago.

He’s taken his game to new heights during the 2021-2022 campaign, though. Morant has increased both his rebounding average and points per game average since last year. The South Carolina native has raised his scoring average by a little bit more than eight points per game from last season. That’s why he was recently named the NBA’s Most Improved Player.

The Grizzlies currently trail the Warriors by 20 points with 2:45 remaining in the 3rd quarter–93-73. If the Warriors can hold on, they’ll lead the series 2-1.
