WATCH: Jarvis Landry surprises Odell Beckham during Super Bowl week
Los Angeles Rams receiver Odell Beckham got some support from a longtime friend in his Super Bowl press conference. Browns receiver Jarvis Landry made a surprise appearance Monday to offer Beckham some words of encouragement ahead of Sunday’s matchup against Cincinnati.
“I ain’t got no questions, but I wanna start by saying you’re deserving of this moment,” Landry told Beckham. “You put countless hours to be where you are today. I’ve witnessed it all firsthand. You have scars to show where you are today. I wanted to come on here and let you know I’m proud of you. There’s people supporting you every step of the way. Continue to use your light and be a blessing to others. …I love you. Go get that ring.”
Beckham couldn’t help but smile once he realized who was speaking. He and Landry’s friendship goes all the way back to their days together at LSU from 2011-13. Although the pair began their pro careers on different teams, they linked back up on 2019 when Beckham joined the Cleveland Browns.
They played together again for two full seasons before Cleveland put Beckham on waivers after six games this season. The three-time Pro Bowler later signed a one-year deal with the Rams. He has already received $2 million in incentives from Los Angeles’ playoff run and has a chance to add $1 million more with a Super Bowl win.

Touched by his former teammate’s support, Beckham expressed his gratitude.
“Besides pops, there’s no man that has come into my life and had the impact that you have had,” he told Landry. “You’ve made me a better person, player, man, soon-to-be father and brother. You’ve shown me the light and I love you so much. This moment is for us. This is everything we’ve ever talked about. I appreciate you coming on here.”
In eight games with the Rams this season, Beckham has compiled 27 catches for 305 yards and five touchdowns. He set a season-high in the NFC Championship with nine catches for 113 yards.
Kickoff for the Super Bowl is set for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
