Late in the fourth quarter with his team trailing, Joe Burrow delivered the game-tying touchdown pass to CJ Uzomah. The former LSU quarterback made a beautiful throw while on the move to place the ball right in Uzomah’s hands with open field ahead.

Burrow and former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence have been going at it all game. The two met in college during the 2019 national title game, which Burrow and LSU won.

It was the second touchdown pass of the game for Joe Burrow, as his earlier score also went to Uzomah. Lawrence scored a rushing touchdown in the second quarter.

In a battle between two of the league’s most hyped young quarterbacks, things went down to the wire.

Following Burrow’s touchdown pass, the Jaguars took over and punted after only six plays. They never got the ball back as Burrow led the Bengals on a 73-yard drive that lasted more than five minutes. Evan McPherson nailed a 35-yard field goal as time expired to claim the win.

The Jaguars fell to 0-4 as Lawrence is still searching for his first NFL win. Cincinnati improved to a surprising 3-1 after taking out the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3.

Burrow and rookie receiver Ja’Marr Chase have been in sync all season long, and that was again the case Thursday. Chase, Burrow’s teammate at LSU, finished with six catches for 77 yards in the win. It was the first time all season that the two did not connect for a touchdown.

Jacksonville’s next opportunity at a win will come when it faces Tennessee on Oct. 10. The Bengals will look to keep their hot streak going on the same day against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Joe Burrow finished with his best game of the season, throwing for 348 yards and no interception in addition to the touchdown pass. For now, it looks like the Bengals landed a star, while the jury is still out on Lawrence in Jacksonville.
