Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa broke out a unique celebration during Sunday’s blowout against the New York Giants, turning himself into a character from the popular video game Halo. After picking up a sack against quarterback Mike Glennon, he walked to an empty area of the field for a one-man party.

When the quarterback hit the ground, Bosa jogged out of the pile before standing straight up ad walking forward like a video game character. He then turned and mimicked the hand position of a character with a weapon, proceeding to crouch and stand up repeatedly. At one point, Joey Bosa even mimicked the Halo game’s prone feature by laying on the ground and standing up once more during his celebration.

The bizarre celebration is a fan favorite in multiple-player battles within the video game series Halo. After killing an opponent, many players will complete the celebration Bosa demonstrated before continuing with the game. However, it is most often completed over the now-inactive character.

Upcoming Chargers game

With the game firmly in hand against the New York Giants this week, Joey Bosa and the coaching staff will soon turn their attention to the rest of the schedule as the NFL season reaches the homestretch.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs are set to play each other next week. Los Angeles won the first meeting of the season by score of 30-24 on a late touchdown pass from Justin Herbert.

The Chargers missed the playoffs in 2020, but the former first round pick has them in position to snap a two-year drought this year. Should Los Angeles win Sunday, it will have already surpassed its win total from last season. The Chargers are currently the fifth seed in the AFC, set to take on Baltimore in the first round.

The matchup between the Chiefs and Chargers next week will be highly anticipated, with Herbert set to duel it out with Patrick Mahomes. Kickoff for that contest is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday.
