WATCH: Justin Fields throws dime for clutch fourth-quarter touchdown
Rookie quarterback Justin Fields might have just made the biggest play of his young career. On a first-and-10 from the Pittsburgh Steelers 16-yard line, Fields delivered this time to take the lead late in the fourth quarter.
As he lined up in the shotgun, the former Ohio State product took the snap and watched his pocket instantly collapse around him. After breaking containment and scrambling to his left, he unleashed this pass to receiver Darnell Mooney for the score.
In addition, Mooney showed off his footwork as he was able to get two feet down just before running out of the end zone. Chicago would tack on the extra point to take a 27-26 lead with less than two minutes to go in the game.
Unfortunately, the story of the rookie coming into Heinz Field and leaving victorious fell short. The Bears’ offense left 1:46 on the clock. And that was just enough time for veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The savvy veteran lead the Steelers down the field and set up kicker Chris Boswell. That 40-yard field goal would end up being the game-winner.

While he did not get the win, Fields impressed many yet again with his performance tonight. When it mattered the most, in the fourth quarter, he led the Bears on two touchdown drives, and was nearly able to set Chicago up with a game-winning field goal.
Chicago kicker Cairo Santos was about five yards short of making a 65-yard game-winning field goal. Fields finished the night 17 of 29 for 291 yards passing. He also had one touchdown pass, one interception, and was sacked just three times on the night. Although at Ohio State, he was not often involved in the running game, he’s made it a part of his game in the pros. He ended with eight carries for 45 yards.
