WATCH: Las Vegas Raiders receiver Bryan Edwards catches a 37-yard touchdown pass

Las Vegas Raiders second year receiver Bryan Edwards is having a much better season during second season in the league. He’s already hauled in over 300 receiving yards and tonight, he’s having a big night as well.

Check out the 37-yard touchdown catch he hauled in from Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr.

Edwards does a great job of splitting the two safeties as he gets in the end zone for six. So far tonight, he’s hauled in two catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown score cut the Chiefs lead to 17-14 early in the third quarter.

Edwards was one of the all-time greats at South Carolina

The former South Carolina star is finally starting to take the next step in his development in the 2021 season. He was a popular breakout candidate in the 2021 season and up to this point, he’s proven many people right.

While suiting up for the Gamecocks, Edwards shattered several school records during his time there, including career receiving yards (3,045), career receptions (234), and consecutive games with a catch (48).

He made one of the most spectacular catches in South Carolina history when, a few years ago against the Tennessee Volunteers, he one handed a catch along the sideline.

It was an absolutely unreal grab and plays like that will get you paid in the National Football League.

Wide receiver is a position that usually takes a year to develop for a lot of prospects in the NFL and Edwards is proving that the team’s patience is paying off. Especially with Henry Ruggs III getting released due to off-the-field issues, the Raiders needed another receiver to step up opposite of Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller. Maybe Edwards can be that guy.

Second in the NFL in Average Yards Per Catch

Right now, he’s averaging 19.2 yards per catch, which ranks him second in the National Football League. If he keeps making plays like he did tonight, the former South Carolina star will continue to be one of the most lethal big-play threats in the league.
