WATCH: Peyton Manning makes surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live
Peyton Manning has some serious comedic chops. He’s shown them off on multiple occasions — hosting NBC’s Saturday Night Live, his performance in the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe and gracing us with the highly-touted ESPN’s Manning Cast.
In addition to being one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game, Manning is gaining quite the resume in-front of the camera. On Saturday, he added to it — making a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live.
During his appearance, Manning was asked about numerous football subjects — but the former Colts and Broncos star had other topics on his mind.
“Well, I planned to, but I had an hour to kill before the first game, so just for fun, I put on the first episode of Emily in Paris Season 2, and I watched the entire season straight through,” Manning stated, when asked if he watched the NFL Divisional Round. “Oh my god, Colin [Jost]. This show has everything: romance, adventure, sensuality, culture, a fresh take on feminism, finally, not to mention a culinary tapestry so rich, I could only describe it as ‘food porn.’”
As you can see, Manning has developed an infatuation with the hit Netflix series. Moreover, the show even stopped him from lending his extended opinion on the rumors surrounding the retirement of Manning’s former adversary, Tom Brady.

“Yeah, I’m not sure it’s true. I think it’s probably just speculation,” Manning stated, regarding Brady. “But if it were me, I probably would retire, too, if it gave me more time to watch Emily in Paris. I really think for Tom right now, it’s just a tough decision between balancing his career and relationships, sort of like Emily.”
If Brady does retire, perhaps he’ll join Manning as a former quarterback turned comedic tribe.

The question now becomes, will Peyton Manning be tuned in for the AFC and NFC Championship Games, or will Emily in Paris takeover his weekend again?
“Sure, watching football was the safe thing to do,” stated Manning. “That’s what everyone expected me to do, but if I’ve learned anything from Emily, it’s to follow my passions and always be true to myself.”
The next Manning Cast can’t come soon enough. It’ll be golden when Eli Manning can ask his brother about his television binging. Until then, the world awaits the next streaming series that Peyton Manning decide s to binge instead of watching football.
