Saquon Barkley hasn’t had the electrifying season many expected, but he can still make highlight reel plays when given the chance. On Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, that’s exactly what the Giants star did.
On the play, the Dallas pass rush broke through the putrid Giants offensive line immediately. Intelligently, Barkley impeded the defenders line to the quarterback. It proved to make a huge difference, giving Mike Glennon barely enough time to get the ball out to Barkley.
That’s when it happened — the most spectacular catch you’ll see all Sunday. Glennon delivered the ball behind the former Penn State star, but it didn’t matter. Barkley grabbed the tip of the football, carrying it from the point up into his chest. Then, the electrifying running back took the ball past the line to gain a first down.
It looked as if Barkley’s hands were magnetized and the football was attracted to it. It hasn’t been a great season for Saquon Barkley, but he’s proving he’s still a playmaker when given opportunities.
More on Cowboys at Giants
The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for a game with huge NFC East implications against the New York Giants. Whenever these two heated rivals get together, calamity ensues — Sunday could be no different.
First, the Cowboys enter the game after an uneven victory over the Washington Football Team. While Dak Prescott and company found enough to get a victory, it wasn’t the prettiest performance for the team as a whole.
Late in the fourth quarter, the heart of Cowboys faithful was in their throats following an ugly pick-six thrown by Prescott. As the Cowboys take on the Giants, the star quarterback of Dallas will have to be more effective.

On the other hand, the Giants are looking to play spoilers at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. With quarterback Daniel Jones out for an indefinite amount of time due to a neck injury, New York is playing with house money against Dallas.
At quarterback, veteran backup Mike Glennon will get his third consecutive start for the Giants. However, he could be relieved of his duties in favor of a player with more potential — former Georgia Bulldogs star Jake Fromm is waiting in the wings for his chance.
Unfortunately for Fromm, that chance could come opposite star rookie defender Micah Parsons. In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Giants passed on Parsons to trade back with the Chicago Bears. In his first game in New York, Parsons could be out to show them what they missed out on.
Earlier this season, Dallas was regarded as one of the league’s top teams. Prior to the playoffs, the Cowboys will look to return to form against the Giants on Sunday.
