The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won on Sunday with an overtime touchdown pass from Tom Brady, giving him 700 career touchdowns after the game-winner. The Buccaneers beat the Buffalo Bills in overtime 33-27, improving to 10-3 on the season and are a half-game behind the Arizona Cardinals.

Tom Brady’s 700th touchdown is game-winner

After a roller coaster second game that saw the Buccaneers build and then lose a huge lead, Tom Brady delivered Tampa Bay’s tenth win of the season in overtime. Brady entered the game on Sunday with 698 touchdowns, and the extra period of play gave him the chance he needed to pass the incredible milestone. Breshad Perriman

After Buffalo was forced to punt on their first possession in overtime, Tampa Bay made the most of their opportunity. Brady found receiver Breshad Perriman open with a linebacker in coverage. In a play designed to bring all the action to the left side of the field, Perriman ran a short crossing route to the opposite side.

Brady moved through his progressions before finding Perriman in the perfect spot. Perriman got the step on his defender and never slowed down, sprinting into the end zone for Brady’s 700th career touchdown pass.

Brady now has 617 regular season touchdown passes along with 83 postseason touchdowns, making him the first quarterback ever to reach the 700 milestone.

Tampa Bay outscored the Bills in the first half 24-3, only to see them return the favor by outscoring them 24-3 in the second half to tie the game. As Tampa Bay improves to second place in the NFC, the Bills fall to 7-6 on the season in the middle of the playoff bubble pack. If the playoffs were to begin today, Buffalo would be the No. 7 seed.

Tom Brady continues to torture the Bills

Tom Brady’s record against the Bills continues to be incredible, whether he’s wearing a New England Patriots jersey or a Buccaneers one. After Sunday’s win, Brady now has a career record of 33-3 against the Bills alone.

Just against Buffalo, Brady has 9,032 passing yards and 72 touchdowns with 25 interceptions. He has averaged over 250 passing yards and a quarterback rating of 98.2 for his entire career versus Buffalo.

Adding to the insanity of his numbers, if you were to only use Brady’s career stats against Buffalo he would rank 215th all-time in passing yards in NFL history. For additional context, that would put him only two positions behind Robert Griffin III on the all-time list. He would also be 180th all-time in passing touchdowns.
