Report: Jarvis Landry signs one-year deal with New Orleans Saints
According to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, wide receiver Jarvis Landry has signed a one-year deal with his hometown New Orleans Saints. After spending the past four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Landry will be playing for his third career team in the NFL.
Landry had a career-low in production last season, only catching 52 passes for 570 yards. Disagreements with the Browns franchise led to him being released and free to sign with whatever team he pleased for the 2022 season. Now, Landry will be heading back to his home state of Louisiana after also playing his college football there.
A former On3 Consensus five-star prospect, Landry signed with the LSU Tigers coming out of high school. He spent three seasons in Baton Rouge before declaring for the NFL Draft. The Miami Dolphins selected Landry No. 63 overall in the second round where he instantly become one of the league’s best. After a down season, the hope is that being back in Louisiana will bring the best out of Landry.
The Saints have worked hard to address their wide receiver problems this offseason, drafting Chris Olave in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. After Michael Thomas did not see the field last season either, he is expected to return to the field this year. A combination of Landry, Olave, and Thomas could possibly create one of the top units across the entire NFL for first-year head coach Dennis Allen.

Jarvis Landry continues trend of former LSU players signing with Saints
Landry is just the latest NFL free agent who played college ball at LSU to sign with their hometown team. New Orleans recently signed defensive back Tyrann Mathieu and the two seem to be a match made in heaven.
Mathieu recently talked about returning to the state of Louisiana to play for the Saints. He said it’s a “dream” after always being a fan of the organization. Now, he will be wearing their jersey on Sundays and hoping to compete in the competitive NFC South.
“It’s most definitely a dream,” Mathieu said of signing with the Saints, per NFL.com. “Having the opportunity to represent this team, to be a part of this locker room. I’ve always been a fan of the way the Saints play football. Just to have that opportunity, means a lot to me. More than anything I just want to take advantage of it and make the most of it.”
