The Tennessee Titans benched quarterback Will Levis for Mason Rudolph, but that doesn’t mean Levis believes his time in Nashville is done. While speaking to reporters this week, Levis talked about his future with the Titans and the NFL.

“I still believe that I can be the franchise quarterback for this team. I have the utmost confidence in myself and my ability to lead any team in this league,” Levis said. “I think that this year was great development to me, and I think that I truly did improve. [I] sure as heck don’t want to go out like that, and I know that there’s a positive future for me, whether it’s here or somewhere else, and I just got to have the conversations I need to here and hopefully I can show them through that I can still do the guy.”

After a promising rookie season in 2023, Levis took a step back this year, tallying 17 turnovers (12 interceptions and five fumbles ) in 11 games. This past weekend, the former Kentucky Wildcats star threw for just 89 yards, no touchdowns and three inteceptions while losing a fumble in the Titans’ loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Will Levis on his relationship with Titans head coach Brian Callahan

The Titans selected Levis in the second round of last year’s draft, and he threw for 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions while posting a 3-6 record in nine games during his rookie season. There were some big changes to the Titans in the offseason with the hiring of head coach Brian Callahan who spent the last five seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals.

In an interview with DJ Siddiqi of SportsCasting, Levis discussed his relationship with Callahan. “Brian’s been great, my relationship with him has developed a lot throughout this year,” Levis said. “As we’ve learned each other as players and as people with our time together, it’s only gotten better. Even though it’s been tough with the results on the field, we know what we’re working towards and everything that we’re doing are the right things to put us in the best position going forward. That’s been the best thing with him, it’s just maintaining that mission, maintaining that focus. We’re on this mission together and we’re doing our best to move forward every single day.”
