Will Levis leaves Titans-Vikings joint practice early, status for Saturday's preseason game unknown
Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis left practice and went inside early on Thursday. A reason for his departure isn’t yet clear.
After a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel offered a brief explanation but didn’t detail what was going on. He said they’ll gauge his availability ahead of a preseason game against the Vikings on Saturday.
“We’ll see where he’s at for the game on Saturday,” Vrabel said according to Sam Phalen.
The Titans selected Levis out of Kentucky with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Levis is the latest of several Titans to be hit with an injury of some stripe during training camp this week.
Second-year wideout Treylon Burks was carted off the practice field on Wednesday in a scary moment.
Now we know the severity of his injury. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Burks suffered an LCL sprain during practice.
“Titans WR Treylon Burks suffered an LCL sprain during practice today, sources say after the MRI. This is good news, as Burks should only miss a few weeks. A scare, but a solid result considering,” Rapoport said on Twitter.
The good news for the Titans and their young receiver is it is only a sprain of one of the ligaments in the knee and not something more severe, like a season-ending ACL tear. A timeline for Burks’ return has yet to be determined, but all signs point to the former Razorback being back on the field sometime in the near future.

Vrabel was generally optimistic about the outcome.
“I don’t think it’s going to be a long-term thing. No structural damage. Anticipate him being back. Not putting a timeline on it, but I think it’s a best-case scenario,” Vrabel said.
The Titans aren’t the only team battling the injury bug
Ahead of the Steelers’ second preseason game versus the Buffalo Bills this week, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin provided status updates on three key players.
According to the skipper, defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, guard Nate Herbig and safety Tre Norwood will not be available for the game on Saturday versus the Buffalo Bills.
Ogunjobi recently suffered a right foot injury and has been walking around the Steelers’ facilities in a walking boot.
Meanwhile, Herbig has missed two practices now with a shoulder injury. Norwood, although he’s been able to practice in a limited capacity, is dealing with a right leg injury.
The trio of players will miss Saturday’s game, however, Tomlin also noted that they aren’t long-term concerns.
