William Byron announces brand-new sponsor Relay Payments for Bristol and Las Vegas
As the end of the season rolls around, teams are making last-minute sponsorship announcements. William Byron has a new partner. The Hendrick Motorsports driver is teaming up with Relay Payments for the Bristol and Las Vegas races this season. NASCAR teams are always trying to pull in sponsors and this looks like a solid match.
The No. 24 is going to have a brand new look on the track as well. I wonder if that includes new giant hats in case he happens to win at Vegas again? William Byron is having a really good season and with a new partner, that confidence has to be through the roof.
This is a great black scheme with some silver highlights. The green numerals make it really pop. Another solid look for the 24 Chevy Camaro.
According to a statement from Hendrick, Relay Payments is “the fintech company modernizing payments for the transportation, logistics and supply chain industries.”
This is a full-throated partnership. Relay Payments is going to have a paint scheme, team equipment, as well as uniforms for Byron and the crew members of the 24 team. There is a lot of excitement around Hendrick Motorsports around this partnership.
William Byron, Jeff Gordon talk new sponsorship
Of course, the guy that made the 24 car famous is a big part of this deal. As vice chairman of Hendrick Motorsports, Jeff Gordon has a lot to do with the operations. He has also taken a very hands-on approach in helping Byron on his own NASCAR career.

Gordon is very excited about this partnership.
“Truck drivers are the unsung heroes of our industry. The race cars Hendrick Motorsports fields each weekend are driven hundreds or thousands of miles to the racetrack to compete in front of our amazing fans,” Gordon said, via Hendrick Motorsports. “But truck drivers are vital to many industries, and the efficiency of Relay helps deliver products and services to businesses and customers in a quicker manner that benefits a lot of people. Hendrick Motorsports is of the same mindset – be the first to the finish line.”
William Byron echoed much of the same sentiment. Those haulers don’t drive themselves! Truck drivers are a big piece of the NASCAR puzzle and how it works every week.
“Our truck drivers are crucial members of our race teams,” Byron said. “They’re responsible for getting our race cars and equipment to and from the racetrack every weekend throughout the longest season in sports. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to race. I’m happy to be able to partner with Relay, which values and understands the importance of truck drivers as much as we do.”
New sponsor, new scheme. William Byron is going to be looking fresh for Bristol (Sept. 16) and Las Vegas (Oct. 15).
