William Byron on ‘NASCAR: Full Speed’ Netflix show: ‘It’s very intrusive’

In a matter of weeks, NASCAR fans will be able to check out the second season of Full Speed on Netflix featuring William Byron and others. Byron is likely to feature heavily after making his second straight Championship 4 appearance last season.
Last year, the first season of NASCAR: Full Speed was a hit. New and old fans enjoyed the drama and intensity of the behind-the-scenes look at the playoffs. While the second edition won’t come out until April, according to Byron, it should be another great insight into the sport.
Back-to-back Daytona 500 champion William Byron is excited about the new season. However, as he told the Rubbin’ is Racing podcast, there are downsides.
“No I mean I think it’s just is, it’s very intrusive like into your daily life,” Byron explained. “The only thing I’d like to see, and the new series is coming out in April, I believe. I’m excited for that, I participated in that and had some fun with it. So, I think it will turn out really good but I would say it’s just, I wish they followed along the entire season. Because I feel like they get a snapshot of the playoffs and that’s when you’re so serious, and like for me, I’m pretty introverted when it comes to competition.
“So, I’m not really going to be as, you know, I’m not going to share my daily life as much when I’m in that part of the season. Hopefully, we can do more stuff like that because I think it was a good, a really good thing for the sport.”
The Baby Faced Assassin as he is called, William Byron isn’t the most flashy or mouthy driver. You can’t deny the results he has been getting the last few years.

Would William Byron let Netflix into his life more?
A lot has been said about these Cup Series drivers and whether they should be more open to letting media and film crews into their lives. We know Chase Elliott is out on that. What about William Byron?
The No. 24 driver says if it wasn’t during the most intense part of the season, he’d be more open to it. He’d even take a film crew on vacation.
“I feel like I would show quite a bit,” Byron said. “On a normal July week I would probably bring them along if I went to, went out of town on vacation or something, I think I would be fine with that. It’s just when it’s in the middle of the Round of 8 and you’re trying to get to the championship, it’s definitely stressful.”
This year is already off to a great start for William Byron. He is going to be a Championship 4 favorite once again. Soon we will see how much he let Netflix into his life at the end of the 2024 season.
