In dominant fashion, William Sawalich ran away with the checkered flag at the Milwaukee Mile, starting his ARCA/NASCAR doubleheader with a win. Sawalich didn’t have to worry about Connor Zilisch this time around, taking down his rival easily.

William Sawalich will take to the track again today in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. There isn’t much to say about this race because of the dominance of Sawalich.

These are two of the best development drivers in the NASCAR pipeline right now. When they take to the track, they expect to win. This is the first ARCA Menards Series race on the national series schedule that Zilisch has not won.

With his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18, Sawalich started on the pole and didn’t look back.

Lavar Scott put up a good race. He is picking up points against his teammate Andres Perez. There is an ARCA championship up for grabs and Scott is now 46 points out of the lead. This race wasn’t much fun up front, but there was action in the field.

Toni Breidinger had a tough day. Up and down. Her teammate Amber Balacaen also had a tough day, ending in a DNF, unfortunately. Breidinger did move up into the top-five in the points standings.

I’m still surprised that Dean Thompson isn’t performing better in these races. Lawless Alan has been developing and improving. Reaume Brothers Racing is doing a good job putting him in races and having him record a lot of laps.

William Sawalich, Connor Zilisch battling for East title

Since both William Sawalich and Connor Zilisch were 17 for most of this year, they did not race the full-time ARCA Menards Series schedule. That national schedule has those intermediate and superspeedway tracks. You must be 18 to race at those facilities.

There is only one race left to decide the ARCA East championship. This is a regional championship that is made up of short tracks on the eastern side of the United States. So far this season, Zilisch has four wins in the series as well as three additional top-5s.

Sawalich trails Zilisch in the East standings by 22 points. That is going to be difficult to overcome with only a race left on the schedule. Bristol is a track that Zilisch is unfamiliar with. However, he’s won at tracks he was unfamiliar with this year as well.

With one race left on the schedule to determine the ARCA East championship, it will be a battle. Connor Zilisch has already won half of the races this season. Sawalich has two wins and Gio Ruggiero has the other victory. Will Zilisch close out the championship in a few weeks?
