The pieces are coming together for William Sawalich as he gets closer to his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Sawalich is making a name for himself in the ARCA Menards Series and East Series. His NASCAR career will soon begin.

A Joe Gibbs Racing development driver, William Sawalich is one of the best prospects in NASCAR. At 17 years old, he can’t race on those oval tracks above a mile in length. That will change soon as his 18th birthday approaches.

Sawalich has picked up four national series victories in ARCA this season as well as a win in the East and West Series, each.

Starkey and SoundGear are moving up from ARCA to Xfinity. Check out the new ride, fit with the black and grey camo and the orange mountains on the side.

This season, William Sawalich has been doing great. However, he’s had a bit of a thorn in his side by the name of Connor Zilisch. Zilisch, who just turned 18, and Sawalich have gone back and forth, especially in the East Series.

That is a good thing to keep in mind. Both Zilisch and Sawalich will be entered in that Homestead-Miami Xfinity Series race. Zilisch for JR Motorsports, Sawlich for Joe Gibbs Racing. A classic battle of up-and-comers between two rival organizations and drivers.

William Sawalich has had Truck Series experience

Dating back to last season, William Sawalich has nine Craftsman Truck Series starts. Sawalich has done well in that Tricon Garage No. 1 Toyota Tundra. However, his performances have not popped off of the page.

In fact, Sawalich has fallen off in the Truck Series since last year. In 2023, Sawalich had three top-10s in six starts. This season, he has a best finish of P12 in three starts. Same team, same truck, different results.

When it comes to the Xfinity Series, I think the idea is the car will be better suited for Sawalich. With how well he does in the ARCA car, I don’t believe that line of thinking is out of the ordinary.

William Sawalich is only getting started. He has more than proven himself in ARCA to this point. Now, he is focused on getting his NASCAR career started in earnest.
