Wood Brothers Racing announced Wednesday that Miles Stanley will serve as crew chief for Josh Berry and the No. 21 team for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Stanley currently serves as Team Penske’s performance engineering manager, a role he has held since 2022. Penske and Wood Brothers share a technical alliance, making the transition a relatively seamless one.

Stanley was previously race engineer for Joey Logano and the No. 22 team from 2013-19. During his time with the No. 22 team, Logano won 21 races and captured his first Cup Series championship in 2018. He joined Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 team in 2020 before sitting atop the pit box for the team’s part-time No. 33 entry with Austin Cindric the following season.

“Miles has built an impressive resume filled with wins and championships. And he has a deep, technical understanding of the sport. His commitment and impressive track record make him a perfect fit for the No. 21 team as we enter an exciting new chapter,” Wood Brothers President Jon Wood said in a statement. “Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to work with some of the most talented crew chiefs in NASCAR. I look forward to seeing what Miles and Josh accomplish on the track next year.”

Wood Brothers Racing finds newest crew chief/driver partnership in Miles Stanley, Josh Berry

Wood Brothers is banking on Stanley and Berry being a winning partnership for 2025 and beyond. The latter signed with the team in July following Stewart-Haas Racing’s decision to close its doors after the 2024 season.

Berry, 34, is wrapping up his first full-time season in the Cup Series. He sits 27th in the points standings through 34 starts, compiling four top 10s and two top 5s. He finished a season best third at Darlington and New Hampshire. Berry is replacing Harrison Burton behind the wheel of the No. 21 Ford.

“The Wood Brothers name is synonymous with the sport of NASCAR. And to be able to serve as the crew chief for the iconic No. 21 is an incredible opportunity,” Stanley said. “I’m looking forward to working with Josh Berry, whose skills and enthusiasm are sure to bring great value to the team. It’s an exciting time for the Wood Brothers with the addition of Josh Berry. And the celebration of their 75th anniversary in NASCAR in 2025. We’ll be ready to hit the ground running.”
