The 2025 season marks a special year for Wood Brothers Racing. It will be the crew’s 75th year as a race team in the NASCAR Cup Series. The organization pulled off its 100th Cup win all-time this past season with Harrison Burton at Daytona.

Basically for as long as NASCAR has been around, there has been a Wood Brothers Racing. They don’t line up exactly the same, which is a matter of two years’ difference, but the two are synonymous.

Just as NASCAR created a special 75th-anniversary logo and the Petty Family did their own 75th-anniversary logo, now the Wood Brothers have a special emblem. We will be seeing this on Josh Berry’s No. 21 car next year.

For many NASCAR fans, the 21 car represents different eras of the sport. So many greats and legends have raced and won with the Wood Brothers. What the Wood family has done for the sport of stock car racing cannot be measured.

Notching 100 wins in the Cup Series doesn’t happen by accident. This is an organization that has been passed down from one generation to the next. Jon Wood and all of the new generation of owners are going to help lead this team into another era.

Many believe that they have the right driver for the job. But we won’t know until we see action on the track in 2025.

Josh Berry leading Wood Brothers Racing

There is a lot to be optimistic about next season for Wood Brothers Racing. Having Josh Berry behind the wheel is a big deal. Miles Stanley is set to be the crew chief for the 21 car coming out of the Team Penske pipeline.

That Penske alliance is a big deal. We have seen what that alliance did for Front Row Motorsports in 2024. They were considerably faster, especially when it came to qualifying. Berry is a driver who can make the most of the Penske partnership.

If we are being honest, Berry didn’t meet expectations in 2024. Then again, Stewart-Haas Racing wasn’t exactly the best situation for him to succeed. On top of the SHR struggles in general, Berry had 10 DNFs during the season. 27th in points was not ideal, but he didn’t have much of a fighting chance to do better.

In 2025 Josh Berry and Wood Brothers Racing can elevate each other. Berry has to prove that he is the driver many believed he would be when he first got to the Cup Series. Wood Brothers have to prove, again, that they can win with just about any driver you put in their car.
