Wyndham Clark slams club, nearly hits PGA Championship volunteer in tense moment

Wyndham Clark nearly hit a PGA Championship volunteer after slamming his club during the tournament. A video showed Clark slamming the club at the 16th hole of the PGA Championship’s final round.
Wyndham Clark did not have a strong showing at this year’s PGA Championship. He finished the final round three-over-par and tied for 50th in the tournament with a +4. While the 31-year-old was not happy with his results, it was his best finish at the PGA Championship.
Clark won his first major championship in 2023, placing first in the U.S. Open. He won three PGA Tour events in his career, with the last occurring in February 2024 when he won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
“I feel like I belong on this stage, and even two, three years ago when people didn’t know who I was, I felt like I could still play and compete against the best players in the world,” Clark said after winning the U.S. Open nearly two years ago, per ESPN. “I felt like I’ve shown that this year.”

Paige Spiranac opens up about her relationship with Wyndham Clark
Golf influencer Paige Spiranac recently spoke about her relationship with Clark on Netflix’s Full Swing. “So I remember Wyndham when he was this tall,” Spiranac said, referencing a child’s height, per the Daily Mail. “Full of braces. Most people don’t know this, we’re both from Colorado. We grew up playing junior golf together, and now we’re here.’
“He was always going to be one of the best. Now he has to deal with all the pressure of people looking at him and having to compete week in, week out and being one of the top guys.”
Spiranac added, “Wyndham Clark and I grew up playing junior golf together in Colorado,” Spiranac wrote on social media at the time. ‘Everyone would always say he had something special and we all knew he’d make it. Now he’s a major winner! Very cool moment.”
